What no make up!!!

5736351Hello you lovely people…

Following on from my eye blog last week, I thought I’d share… I’ve not worn make up for nearly 2 weeks and I’m getting to like it!

It’s bringing up issues of why I thought I always had to wear make up in the first place, how I would react to seeing myself in the mirror without make up… Thoughts of not being good enough, pretty enough…. Just not enough.

A simple experiment, in my case, it was forced by having an eye infection, of not wearing make up, going about in the world bare faced and open and having to look at myself in the mirror and thinking ok, this is me and I’m in a good place…

Who would have thought that getting an eye infection, feeling ugly and super self conscious would grow into questioning myself over my very ingrained belief that I have to wear make up, feeling naked and exposed if I went out clean faced…

I went to a party this weekend without make up and I realised that this was the first time I had been out to a party clean faced since I was 14…. That’s deep..

Very interesting that something so simple can bring up so many realisations… I have decided that I will continue not to wear make up as it feels so good, however, if I’m going out and I fancy some razzmatazz, then I’ll put some on….

Sounds good to me..

Do you feel comfortable with out make up? Do you love to wear it?

Would love to hear….

I stopped wearing makeup several years ago and have probably worn it 2 or 3 times since then. Feeling good about yourself comes from within. If you feel in control of your life and feel good about your health and your body you glow from the inside out anyway. If you feel sexy you look sexy! Feed your body and your mind with good stuff (and a little bad stuff occasionally to keep things balanced!) and you will look as good as you feel.
